Colin Brown

British
Nationality:
Atmospheric street scenes in loose, light-filled acrylic.
Colin Brown trained at Canterbury College of Art and spent 24 years as a commercial illustrator and visualiser for major brands before turning to fine art. He is based in the West Country.
He works mainly in acrylic, with a loose, expressive technique that draws on Impressionism and Fauvism. Light is the most important element in every painting, and he cites Monet as a major influence.
His subjects are street scenes from home and abroad, from Salisbury's market square and cathedral to London, Venice and New York. Rather than precise detail, he aims to capture a fleeting moment and the feeling of being there.
Dane Manor Fine Art holds a selection of his limited editions. Every piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
