Michiel Folkers

Michiel Folkers is a Dutch artist based in Amsterdam. His roots are in graffiti, and the energy of street culture runs through everything he makes.

He plans each piece digitally, using photography and design software, before building it up by hand from colourful street posters, spray paint and acrylic on large canvases. The result is layered, high-contrast pop art with graffiti typography.

Icons of film and music, comic characters and animals are recurring subjects. In his words, a work of art does not have to be beautiful; it matters more that it radiates confidence and strength.

His work has been exhibited internationally, from Zurich to New York. Dane Manor Fine Art holds a selection of his Studio Editions. Every piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
