Nigel Cooke

British

Nationality:

Richly textured, atmospheric cityscapes of London, Paris, New York and Venice, inspired by Jackson Pollock's drip technique.

Nigel Cooke was born in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, in 1960 and sold his first painting at the age of 14. After school he joined the Merchant Navy and travelled the world, experiences that still feed into his work.
He went on to work as a resident caricaturist for Butlins, ran caricature concessions at venues including Blackpool's Central Pier and Alton Towers, and worked as a character designer in Hong Kong before returning to the fine art he loves.
Inspired by Jackson Pollock's drip painting, Cooke builds his cityscapes from layered, textured detail. London, Paris, New York, Amsterdam and Venice all appear in his work, full of light, movement and atmosphere.
Dane Manor Fine Art holds a selection of his limited studio editions, including The City Of London as a canvas deluxe edition. Every piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
