Bring the Art Gallery to Your Home: See Leigh Lambert Paintings on Your Wall Before You Buy
Buying art online has always come with one big question: how will it actually look on my wall? A painting that looks perfect on a screen can feel too small above a sofa, or too large in a hallway. That's why we're trialling a new way to bring the art gallery to your home, so you can see a painting on your own wall, at its real size, before you buy.
We're starting with the work of Leigh Lambert, and we'd love you to try it and tell us what you think.

Why see a painting on your wall first?
Measurements on a product page only tell you so much. Seeing the piece in your own room helps you answer the questions that really matter:
Size – will it fill the space or get lost on the wall?
Frame – does the frame work with your furniture and colours?
Placement – above the fireplace, the sofa, or along the stairs?
Confidence – buy knowing it will look right when it arrives.
Why we started with Leigh Lambert
Leigh Lambert was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1979 and moved to Warwickshire at 17, where he still lives and works. Largely self-taught, he paints in oils on board from his garden studio, turning memory into image.
His nostalgic scenes of post-war Britain – terraced streets, smoking chimneys and children at play – are painted in near-monochrome greys, lifted by small, deliberate touches of colour. Shortlisted for Best Up and Coming Artist at the 2014 Fine Art Trade Guild Awards, he is also the author of the book Those Were The Days (2017).
Because his work relies on that subtle balance of grey and colour, seeing it against your own walls makes a real difference. It's the perfect place to start.

How it works: two easy ways to preview
1. Preview it in your room
Open a Leigh Lambert painting on our website.
Upload a photo of your wall, take one with your phone, or use our sample room.
Set the scale by marking something of known size, such as a door, a light switch or a sheet of A4 paper, so the painting is shown at true size.
Choose your frame and see the painting in place.
2. Use your phone camera
On your phone, tap View in your space.
Point your camera at the wall and move it slowly until the wall is detected.
Tap to place the painting. It's shown at its real size, so you can see exactly how it will look.

Tips for the best preview
Take your photo straight on, standing square to the wall.
Use daylight or good lighting so the colours look natural.
Include a reference object you can measure for an accurate scale.
As a guide, hang the centre of a picture at roughly eye level, around 145–150cm from the floor.
