David Taylor was born in Lancashire and trained as an architect before turning to painting. His studio is in Dulwich, South London.
He paints in oil with palette knife and brush, working from visual memory rather than directly from life.
His subjects are land, sea and sky under dramatic weather, in a semi-abstract style often described as Turneresque. His work is held in private collections in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the USA.
