Ed Robinson

British

Nationality:

A design-industry veteran whose mixed-media cityscapes layer printed letters, watercolour and oil into iconic views of London and beyond.

Ed Robinson studied graphic design and illustration at Great Yarmouth School of Art, now part of Norwich School of Art, before moving to London to work for leading design and advertising agencies. He picked up several national and international design awards along the way and became a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers.
He first experimented with the mixed-media technique that now defines his fine art practice 35 years ago, while still a student — combining printed letters, watercolours, acrylics and oils into layered compositions built around light and texture. His palette has grown bolder over time, though it remains grounded in that same hybrid, collage-influenced approach.
His subjects are landmark-led: London icons like Tower Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster and the Thames barges, British towns including Cambridge, Burford and Guildford, and international cities from Venice's Grand Canal to Paris, New York and Amsterdam. His work is held in some of the UK's most prestigious galleries and in private collections across the UK, Europe and the USA.
At Dane Manor Fine Art, his collection includes Piccadilly Lights, Lions Of London, Icons Of London and New York Memories.
