Blue is an abstract portrait drawn in dense black ink, from which a pair of striking blue eyes holds the viewer’s gaze. The contrast between wild mark-making and that steady stare gives the piece quiet intensity.
Blue is a limited edition print by Scott Tetlow, released in an edition of 25. Born in Rochdale in 1969 and trained in fine art at Cheltenham, Scott Tetlow fuses the flowing marks of Chinese calligraphy with an urban pop edge. His music legends, screen icons and characterful urban animals are drawn with confident, intuitive energy.
