Scott Tetlow

British

Nationality:

Music legends, screen icons and urban animals drawn with calligraphic flair and a punk-born pop attitude.

Scott Tetlow was born in Rochdale in 1969 and studied fine art at Cheltenham. In his late teens he worked as a roadie for punk bands, designing album covers and sketching the punk scene along the way.
He built a reputation as a figurative artist inspired by urban realism and Chinese calligraphy. After a studio fire in 2002 destroyed his life's work, he spent nearly a decade teaching art, before a move to Verona in Italy reignited his painting around 2011. He later returned to the UK and built a studio in his garden.
His work combines an elegant, flowing quality with a modern, edgy attitude. Working intuitively with confident mark-making, he captures movement and energy across style icons, music legends, superheroes and characterful urban animals. In 2021 he produced a limited edition Remembrance piece, Lest We Forget, donating 10% of sales to the Royal British Legion.
Dane Manor Fine Art holds a wide selection of his limited editions, from music portraits such as Ian Curtis, Amy and Moves Like Jagger to his DJ Man Cub series, deluxe editions and miniatures. Every piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
