A geisha-inspired figure blows a playful kiss, surrounded by layered patterns, stamps and flashes of gold. Flirtatious and full of energy, Sparks Fly balances traditional Japanese motifs with a bold street-art edge.
Sparks Fly is a limited edition print by The Trunk Of Funk, a Macclesfield-based mixed media artist layering photography, gold leaf and Japanese textile motifs into intricately detailed contemporary works. His Urban Geisha series is his best-known body of work: a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Geisha that fuses street art aesthetics with Eastern symbolism, decorative stamps and gilded detail.
