Oshe

Nationality:
Sunlit cities, coasts and landmarks pared back to clean shapes and limited palettes: what he calls luxurious simplicity.
Oshe traces his art back to a childhood encounter with a Liverpool Overhead Railway poster, and the way it turned a busy, chaotic city scene into something calm and ordered through colour and form.
His approach is reductive: he strips away the clutter of real life, simplifies his subjects to their most fundamental shapes and works with limited colour palettes. He describes the result as luxurious simplicity, trusting the viewer's eye to fill in the gaps.
Landscapes, seascapes and city landmarks are his subjects, captured as the essence of a place rather than a single moment. He cites late nineteenth and early twentieth-century poster art, the tactile fun of Lego and childhood paint-by-numbers among his influences.
Dane Manor Fine Art holds a wide selection of his limited editions, from London, Paris and New York landmarks to sunny Mediterranean scenes, including canvas deluxe editions and miniatures. Every piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
