Sannib

Sannib is a UK-based artist who graduated in graphic design from the Syrian Design Center in Aleppo in 1997. He went on to work in advertising for creative agencies in Kuwait, the UAE and London before turning to art full time.

That background shows in the polish of his work. He combines graphic elements, painting techniques and texture across several materials, with distinctive colourways and finishes that abstract classical portraiture into layered, intriguing compositions.

His subjects are a repertoire of twentieth-century figures and icons of film, music and fashion. His palette follows nature's own spectrum, with golden shades of the earth set against the blues of the sea and sky.
