Here Marilyn Monroe appears as the young Norma Jeane, framed within the shape of an iconic perfume bottle. Soft blues and gilded textures lend the portrait a dreamy, nostalgic quality that celebrates the woman behind the legend.
Norma Jeane No 5 is a limited edition mixed media piece by Sannib, released in an edition of 45. Sannib trained in graphic design in Aleppo and worked in advertising in Kuwait, the UAE and London before turning to art. His mixed media portraits of twentieth-century icons layer graphic elements, paint and texture with golden, earthy tones and the blues of sea and sky.
