Skull in hand beside an old typewriter, a chimpanzee ponders lines from Hamlet in To Thine Own Self Be True. Literary and witty, it pairs Shakespearean wisdom with Tetlow’s playful humour.
To Thine Own Self Be True is a limited edition print by Scott Tetlow, released in an edition of 45. Born in Rochdale in 1969 and trained in fine art at Cheltenham, Scott Tetlow fuses the flowing marks of Chinese calligraphy with an urban pop edge. His music legends, screen icons and characterful urban animals are drawn with confident, intuitive energy.
