True to its title, Tranquillity is a peaceful meadow scene, with wildflowers gathered under a soft blue sky. Gentle colour and textured brushwork create a restful mood, ideal for a bedroom or quiet corner.
Red poppies, white daisies and splashes of purple and yellow rise from the grasses in the foreground, while a deep blue sky full of soft white clouds stretches across the top of the canvas. The palette knife leaves raised ridges of paint on every petal, giving the meadow real texture. At 50 x 60 cm, or 71 x 81 cm framed, it brings the calm of the countryside into a bedroom, living room or kitchen.
Tranquillity is a limited edition print by Kimberley Harris, a Suffolk-based countryside artist known for richly textured, palette-knife studies of wildflowers and meadow light. Harris draws her subject matter from Suffolk's own landscapes — intimate, ground-level views of wildflowers, particularly daisies, buttercups, pansies and poppies, set against wide meadow vistas.
