Joaquin Phoenix stares out from an oversized playing card in his celebrated clown-faced role, set against a gold mirror finish. The result is dark, theatrical and mesmerising, catching the light as you move around it.
You Get What You Deserve - Gold Mirror is a limited edition mixed media piece by Sannib, released in an edition of 25. Sannib trained in graphic design in Aleppo and worked in advertising in Kuwait, the UAE and London before turning to art. His mixed media portraits of twentieth-century icons layer graphic elements, paint and texture with golden, earthy tones and the blues of sea and sky.
