A grinning, clown-faced villain emerges from a storm of paint drips and scrawled text, his expression both gleeful and unsettling. Raw energy and dark humour run through this striking, rebellious portrait.
Live Without Rules is a limited edition print by Sannib, released in an edition of 75. Sannib trained in graphic design in Aleppo and worked in advertising in Kuwait, the UAE and London before turning to art. His mixed media portraits of twentieth-century icons layer graphic elements, paint and texture with golden, earthy tones and the blues of sea and sky.
