Crush depicts a sea turtle gliding through a world of colour, the patterned shell and gentle eye captured with care. Loose, fluid marks evoke the movement of water, giving the piece a calm, uplifting, ocean-inspired mood.
Crush is a limited studio edition by Joe Galindo, released in an edition of 50. Joe Galindo is a Leeds-based wildlife painter, born in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Working in acrylic, inks, spray paint and layered mark-making, he balances carefully detailed eyes with loose lines, splashes and bold colour, so every animal comes across with real character.
