Koko is a gorilla portrait full of quiet strength, the thoughtful eyes drawing you in while bold colour and modern mark-making swirl around the powerful features. It strikes a lovely balance between gentleness and raw presence.
Koko is a limited studio edition by Joe Galindo, released in an edition of 50. Joe Galindo is a Leeds-based wildlife painter, born in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Working in acrylic, inks, spray paint and layered mark-making, he balances carefully detailed eyes with loose lines, splashes and bold colour, so every animal comes across with real character.
