Seated Nude I presents a seated figure in oil, built up with confident, textured brushwork. Warm skin tones against a muted ground give the painting a serene, timeless quality.
Seated Nude I is a limited edition by Shaun Othen, released in an edition of 45. Shaun Othen was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, in 1969 and studied at Falmouth School of Art. Working mainly in oils and grounded in a deep study of anatomy, his figurative work has moved from strict photorealism towards a freer style built on texture, line and abstraction.
