Rich palette-knife texture defines Seated Nude II, an oil study of a seated figure. The sculptural paint surface and subtle tonal shifts lend the work a tactile, contemplative presence.
Seated Nude II is a limited edition by Shaun Othen, released in an edition of 45. Shaun Othen was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, in 1969 and studied at Falmouth School of Art. Working mainly in oils and grounded in a deep study of anatomy, his figurative work has moved from strict photorealism towards a freer style built on texture, line and abstraction.
