British

Nationality:

Atmospheric coast, sea and countryside in oils from a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists.

Duncan Palmar was born in 1964 and began painting professionally in 1984, at the age of nineteen, holding his first solo exhibition that same year. He is a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and lives in Surrey.
He works mainly in oils on linen canvas and gessoed board that he prepares himself, building each composition from sketches and photographs and using scumbles and glazes to capture light, texture and atmosphere.
Coastal landscapes and maritime scenes, especially in Devon and Cornwall, are at the heart of his work, alongside the countryside of the Lake District. His commissions include three for the Armed Forces, two commemorative millennium pieces, a ten-year association painting award-winning AA hotels, and two Country Life covers.
Dane Manor Fine Art holds a selection of his limited editions. Every piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
